transportation, communications can make you or break you. But communication is
also perception. How does the driver perceive the company? How does the driver
perceive dispatch? In order to keep drivers satisfied, it is critical that they
understand the company wants to communicate with them. First and foremost is
the belief that dispatch is being sincere and honest. It appears that for
professional drivers, their relationship with dispatch is a love/hate
relationship. However, Tandem believes that proper communications will provide
drivers with confidence in dispatch as well as personnel, maintenance, sales,
and all other departments.
What is Tandems communication program? In a nutshell, it is a direct
and open dialogue. First, we maintain a truly open door policy. Our
professional drivers are welcome to visit management offices at any time. From
the Receptionist to the President, our office and management personnel are

We also offer monthly Driver Rep meetings. These meetings are designed to 1)
recognize outstanding service of our professional drivers, 2) update our
driving team on company issues that affect them and 3) provide a general forum
for feedback. Drivers, mechanics, middle, and top management attend these
meetings allowing everyone to dialogue directly with each other.
