Recognition and Reward

Tandem recognizes and rewards it professional drivers in a number of ways. Not only does it provide a competitive pay package with additional pays and an excellent benefit package (inclusive of dental, medical, optical, and 401k), but we also provide recognition and other rewards for a job well done.

Tandem's recognition and reward program includes annual safety, service, and productivity awards combined with other periodic recognition.

Annual Safety and Awards Banquet

Tandem is proud of its Annual Safety and Awards Banquet that has been held for 40 consecutive years as of 2010! This event has become a tradition and recognizes nearly every area of safety, performance, and productivity one can think of. The first Saturday of December is reserved at the Kellogg Center on the campus of Michigan State University. Two "Big Ten" rooms are reserved to accommodate over 200 drivers and staff and there spouses and guests. We also invite a few of our major customers to share this momentous occasion. A fabulous buffet is followed by awards presentation and finally music and dancing. We reserve a block of over 100 rooms at the Kellogg Center and currently are their longest standing customer. The food and accommodations combined with the tens of thousands of dollars in awards and prizes make this event one you do not want to miss. S.H.A.R.E. Program

S.H.A.R.E. (Safety Has a Reward for Everyone) is Tandem's form of positive encouragement for best safety practices. A group of management personnel are assigned the task of randomly auditing each driver for safety. This audit is based on a review of 10 safety criteria from accurate and up-to-date logs and proper load securement to clean windows and proper tire pressure. A driver receives one Tandem Dollar for every S.H.A.R.E. point earned. A total of 10 points is possible. The Tandem Dollars (i.e., points) earned are used to purchase Tandem Wear which includes t-shirts, jackets, mugs, caps and various other items that carry the Tandem logo. The S.H.A.R.E. program was instituted several years ago to provide an additional safety incentive and recognition for our professional driving team. The management staff is directed to offer positive feedback to drivers and through the audits determine what Tandem can do to make its drivers and equipment safer.
